Western expresses sympathy

May 16, 2021

The two stabbings in London yesterday are a terrible tragedy. Western’s thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones.

London Police Service (LPS) has made an arrest and indicated there is no further threat to the community.

Western has no information suggesting a connection to the university.

As always, supports are available to our community: Western students can access counselling by calling 519-661-3030 or emailing health@uwo.ca. 24/7 supports include: Reach Out at 519-433-2023 and Good2Talk at 1-866-925-5454. Faculty and staff can access Western's Employee and Family Assistance Program  24/7.

Western’s Campus Community Police Service (CCPS) special constables provide 24/7 patrols of Western’s central campus, the three affiliates (King’s, Huron and Brescia) and the Research Park.

For non-emergencies, CCPS can be reached 24/7 at 519-661-3300. In the case of an emergency on campus, dialing 911 from a campus telephone connects to the CCPS 911 centre. Dialing 911 on a cell phone or any off-campus telephone connects to the LPS 911 centre.
