September 02, 2014
As part of scheduled Orientation Week activities with new students, Western will sound its emergency weather siren at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2. The siren is intended to be heard outdoors in the event of a severe weather situation to alert the campus community to take immediate shelter indoors.
To find out more about Western’s Emergency Weather Siren and what to do in an actual acute weather situation, visit the Severe Weather Siren webpage.
In the case of an actual emergency during the scheduled test, the university will use other channels (i.e. social media, uwo.ca) to confirm the need to seek shelter.
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
