Western Film Festival ready to roll

Lights, camera, Western. The stage is set for the 2014 Western Film Festival scheduled for 5-9 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the Wolf Performance Hall, London Public Library, 251 Dundas St. An after-party will follow at Downtown Kathy Browns. Tickets are $10 and available at the door.

All films are created by Western students or recent graduates and will be judged by a panel comprised by several members of the London film community. There are three main prizes as well as an audience-choice award.

Run by the Western Undergraduate Film Society, and sponsored by Western’s Film Studies Department, the festival includes films by Chris Beaulieu, a fourth-year Faculty of Arts & Humanities student; Jesse Brossoit, a recent Arts & Humanities student graduate; Brittany Brunelle, a fourth-year Arts & Humanities student; Jordana Plotnik, a third-year Western student; Samantha Roach, a third-year Faculty of Information and Media Studies (FIMS) student; Joey Simpson, a third-year Arts & Humanities student; and more.

Many of the films were created in Film Studies courses – Film Aesthetics, Film 2270F; Advance Film Aesthetics, Film 3370F; Special Topics in Film Studies, Film 3312G; and Seminar in Film Aesthetics, Film 4470F.
