Western community mourns student

March 19, 2013

Western is deeply saddened to report that Noah Kishinevsky, a first-year Science student and resident of Saugeen Maitland Hall residence, was found dead on Monday night following a search by both police and community members.

“This is the most tragic news that any university can deliver,” said Helen Connell, Western Communications and Public Affairs associate vice-president. “The loss of a student affects the entire university. Our community mourns this loss. Our hearts go out to Noah’s family at this most difficult time.”

In response to this incident, Western offers counseling and support through its student health services department, the residence life program, and the university’s chaplaincy, as required. Western Hillel, 1192 Richmond St., is offering its counseling and support services as well.

Further details of a memorial or any formal remembrances will be relayed to the community according to the family’s wishes.
