HAMILTON – Western Mustangs swimmer Jennifer Trung has been named one of Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Women of Influence for 2013. The award, now in its 10th year, honours female student-athletes who have excelled in their chosen sports and fields of study.

Trung, a fourth-year swimmer and Medical Sciences student, has been one of the Mustangs most outstanding student-athletes in both the pool and the classroom over the past four years. A top student, Trung has won 15 OUA medals, including nine gold, during her career.

She also holds two Western records as an individual in the 50 Metre and 100 Metre Backstroke and along with her teammates holds OUA records in the 4x400 Metre Medley Relay and 4x400 Metre Freestyle Relay.

Earlier this month the Maple, Ont., native was also awarded the 57th F.W.P. Jones Trophy for her outstanding contribution to intercollegiate athletics during her time at Western.
