Steam line repairs to continue
By Communications Staff
November 15, 2012
Repairs to a broken condensate return line on Oxford Drive may continue through the weekend, according to Western’s Facilities Management.
As part of those repairs, the tunnel accessed across from Stevenson Hall, which leads to the entrance for Student Health Services in the University Community Centre (UCC), will be closed. The walkway between Oxford Drive and the UCC will remain open during repairs, but pedestrians should be aware of ongoing construction.
Mike Herman, Power Plant supervisor, stressed this is an inconvenience, not a danger.
Condensate lines allow the water produced from condensed steam to heat the university’s buildings and transfer the steam back to its Power Plant for reuse .
