Physical Plant launches Green Awards

By Communications Staff
March 14, 2008

The University of Western Ontario's Physical Plant Division is launching a recognition program to celebrate the work of students, staff and faculty who are working to promote sustainability on campus.

With input from green leaders on campus, including Environmental Research Chair Bob Bailey, and EnviroWestern Coordinator Will Bortolin, Physical Plant has developed a guideline of values by which to choose recipients.

These values as well as nominations forms can be viewed and downloaded from the Physical Plant website.

Nominations are open now until March 31. Recipients will be notified following the selection process.

Western community members can nominate themselves or those around them who initiate or support an activity with positive environmental outcomes, encourage participation and involvement, work together with others, groups and organizations to meet their goals, and demonstrate a sustained effort/campaign.

Those wishing to participate are encouraged to contact Physical Plant Communications Officer Brandon Watson via email bwatso5@uwo.ca.
