Janice Deakin, Western provost and vice-president (academic), left, presents a Western Heads East’s ‘yogurt mama’ – one of 60 in 10 kitchens throughout Mwanza, Tanzania – with an apron bearing the university’s crest. Deakin and Julie McMullin, vice-provost (International), visited the Tukumuane Women’s Group in Mwanza recently to extend the university’s appreciation for their hard work to grow  the social enterprises which addresses poverty and empowers women in their communities. The aprons were donated by Western’s Hospitality Services; Western crest printing was donated by Positive Identity.
