Research Western has introduced a new grant to support scholarly research at the undergraduate level at Western in the areas of human rights, social justice, genocide and related issues.

The Undergraduate Award in Human Rights grants is valued at a maximum of $2,500 annually and are provided through the Office of the Vice-President (Research & International Relations.

“Undergraduate students have a great opportunity to become involved in research related to social justice and human rights that can make an important difference in our world,” says Ted Hewitt, Western’s Vice-President (Research & International Relations). “It is important for students to take an active role in this research agenda as they are a part of the generation positioned to make a significant difference going forward.”

Research carried out with the grant’s support may be undertaken in compliance with the requirements of a regular university course, as part of a ready or special topics course, or at the student’s own initiative.

Information about the program can be found at www.uwo.ca/research/rds.html.
