Campus Community Police Service are informing the public of a potential phone scam involving Western's Campus Recreation.

To date, four individuals have stopped by Membership Services, allegedly contacted by Campus Recreation, informing them they were contest winners and were to come by to pick up their prize of a pre-paid MasterCard valued at $5,000.

Campus Recreation reports they have no such contest promotion going on and is not in any way involved with contacting individuals about prize winnings of this nature.

Campus police are currently investigating these reports but have limited information because names of the persons that received these calls were not taken by Campus Recreation.

Anyone receiving this type of call or has anyone information that could assist the investigation, contact campus police at ext. 83300.
