“Would this – this place, this machine, this social system or way of life – be capable of continuing on its present course for the foreseeable future without exhausting the planet’s ability to sustain human life at something like the current population and quality of life?” This is the question author and journalist Chris Turner asked before traveling the globe in search of hope for a sustainable future. Turner comes to Western to discuss his book, "The Geography of Hope: A Tour of the World We Need," on Wednesday, April 7, 4:30-6 p.m. in the University Community Centre, Room 146.
Turner is the author of the international bestseller "Planet Simpson: How A Cartoon Masterpiece Documented an Era and Defined a Generation." Presented by The McConnell Family Foundation and the Global and Ecosystem Health Interest Group at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, in collaboration with The Centre for Environment and Sustainability.
