Hundreds of Londoners and local Grade 11 science students will travel down the Road of Discovery at the ninth annual Scientific Journey on Thursday, May 6. Three of Western's top professors will offer 20-minute layperson presentations about their research programs, the process of discovery and its implications for society – with time set aside for questions from the audience. Speakers include...
- Elizabeth Gillies (Departments of Chemistry and Chemical & Biochemical Engineering): “From molecules to materials: improving human health”
• Denis O’Carroll (Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering): “Science to technology: cleaning up contaminated groundwater”
• Amanda Moehring (Department of Biology): “The genetics of evolution and species formation”
Presented by Western and Partners in Research, the Scientific Journey is a free opportunity for the community to learn about innovative research projects underway in the city.
