David-Clayton Thomas, lead Singer of Blood, Sweat & Tears, kicks off the 2009-10 Centre for American Studies (CAS) Speakers’ Series on Tuesday, September 22 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Social Science Centre, Room 3036.                
 
The CAS series hosts speakers from a variety of disciplines related to the history, politics, and culture of the United States.
 
Thomas will be sharing his recollections of the American music scene in the 1960s and 70s, including his memories of Woodstock, the anti-war movement, and his politically-laden tour with the band of Eastern Europe.
 
Blood, Sweat & Tears, who earned an impressive five Grammy Awards, is famous for smash hits “Spinning Wheel,” “You Made Me So Very Happy” and “When I Die.”
