Classes without Quizzes - December lecture
Friday, November 19, 2010
Western is proud to present "Classes without Quizzes," the university's 4th annual complimentary lecture series for the community. Join us for topical, entertaining and insightful monthly lectures by some of Western's leading faculty, each taking place in different locations throughout London and area from October 2010 through to April 2011. For the December lecture, Western music professor Jay Hodgson will discuss the role George Martin, known as the "fifth Beatle", played in shaping the band's sound.
By examining records such as "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "I Am The Walrus”, Hodgson will show Martin did much more than simply translate Beatles' songs into recorded realities.
Date: Thursday, Dec. 9 (doors open at 6:30 p.m. and class begins at 7 p.m.)
Location: London Music Club, 470 Colborne Street, London, Ontario
